Free Photography Proposal Template

As correct angles and backgrounds are very important in photography, so is a professional approach to showcasing your skillful work. This photography proposal template puts together everything you need and will showcase your work in the best way to grab great opportunities and clients.

What is a Photography Proposal?

A photography proposal is a document that pitches its services to potential clients. It outlines the detailed description of the portfolio and the necessary skills the photographer possesses to enter into a contract with the client.

What comprises photography services?

The following services are offered by a professional photographer:

  • Professional photography services for client’s websites and digital marketing use

  • Wedding photography

  • Portraits

  • Commercial photography

  • Event photography

  • Product and lifestyle photography

  • Food and beverage photography

What are the key elements of a Photography Proposal?

One of the ways to impress clients is by drafting a compelling photography proposal. The one that positions your brand as ‘the solution’ for the project and helps you close deals quickly. Here are the important components of a photography proposal:

Cover page

As a photographer, you are expected to have a creative approach that showcases your entire photography proposal. The cover page is the first section your client sees. Hence it is important to design a stunning cover page that emphasizes what your business is all about. In this section, mention your company name, the client’s business, and your business logo.

About us

Mention your company details - its foundation, vision, and mission. You can also specify the business expertise or unique selling proposition and profile of your creative team members in the proposal.

Showcase your portfolio

When it comes to photography proposals, clients are more interested in seeing your past work. In this section, demonstrate your abilities and include all your previous work portfolios. This will build your business credibility and help you in gaining new clients.

Approach and services

Mention how you and your expert team will design, develop, and create a strategy to execute the project. Specify how your approach ensures high-quality results and success in every business you undertake.

Here’s an example of how you can define the process of your photography services:

  • Pre-planning and strategy meetings with the clients

  • Studio or location setup

  • Conducting photoshoots

  • Post-production involvement like editing, color corrections, retouching, etc.

  • Photo delivery

Pricing

In the end, the client wants to know how your services are priced. Present your client with payment options or if you have any pricing packages. You can use a price table that clearly specifies every service and the price along with it. This gives the client clarity on what they are paying for.

Project timeline

It’s a good idea to break down the project into several phases and provide a tentative timeline to the client. Keeping the client in the loop at every stage of the project gives them a clear picture of the project. You can outline the deliverables involved with each stage and provide a realistic timeframe to the client.

Terms and Conditions

This is where you mention the legalities of entering into a contract with your brand. State the necessary clauses - termination, liability, cancellation policy, or any other necessary clauses as per your proposal. This avoids any future conflicts with the clients.

Signatures

This is the final section where your proposal turns into a contract. Here, both the company and the client sign the contract and turn it into a formal agreement.

Tips on drafting a creative Photography Proposal template

1. Include social proof

Showcasing your portfolio in the proposal is one side of the story. Adding social proof helps build the credibility of your business. It serves as third-party validation, builds trust, and helps you gain more clients for your services.

2. Add visual content

Since it’s a photography proposal, adding visual content is a must in this proposal. Include creative work illustrations and images that emphasize your business. Keep it innovative and make the proposal aesthetically pleasing.

3. Proofread

Quality is the key to a winning proposal. A proposal with grammatical errors depicts the poor quality of your business as well. Ensure you proofread your proposal before sending it to the client.
